Would you gamble the entire fruits of your success on pursuing a wild fork in the road? That’s what DJ/musician and co-founder of Groove Armada, Andy Cato, did when he fell suddenly and madly in love with growing fruits and vegetables. This passion to grow fresh produce for his family’s dinner table soon expanded from a hobby to a profession when he bought a farm in South West France and then bet the family silver on it. Teaching himself how to farm by book, YouTube video and often catastrophic error, Cato soon found his feet, his unique Wildfarmed method impressing neighbours and eventually even the famously hard to impress French agricultural officials, who awarded him the Knight of the Order of Agricultural Merit Agro-Ecology.
Cato’s story of toggling between DJ decks and unruly tractors, is both a wildly entertaining and genuinely educational read for anyone interested in learning more about agriculture, sustainability, the environment and the farm to table movement from a man who gets his hands dirty out in the field every single day.

About the Author
Andy Cato is a mixed arable and livestock farmer and co-founder of Wildfarmed. He is the first Englishman to be awarded the Chevalier L’Order Mérite de Agricole - the equivalent of a knighthood for services to agriculture. Andy's unique Wildfarmed method brings the concept of rewilding to farming, combining the best of nature with modern technology to create thriving ecosystems and diverse, healthy soils. His original 100Ha farm in Gascony, where his farming journey began, was recognised as the most innovative farm in France when awarded the prestigious Lauréat National de l'Agro-Ecologie 2020. Now back on British soil, Andy is on a mission to take what he’s learned and help other farmers adopt his Wildfarmed system so they can produce wheat that is not only more tasty and nutritious, but that eats up huge quantities of CO2 and restores biodiversity. The National Trust recently awarded Andy a rare 20 year tenure of a 295Ha organic farm in Oxfordshire which will become the home of Wildfarmed. www.wildfarmed.co.uk
